Acting For Film
Step into the spotlight with Harlem Film School’s Acting for Film & Stage class — a dynamic program that introduces students to the art and craft of performance for both
screen and theater.
Through improvisation, script analysis, character development, and scene study, students gain confidence, creativity, and communication skills while mastering the emotional and technical elements of acting. Each student will have the opportunity to perform on camera, collaborate in ensembles, and participate in a polished final showcase.

Acting nurtures empathy, confidence, and resilience—qualities that empower students
in and beyond the classroom. Students will:
-
Develop self-awareness through reflection and performance journaling.
-
Build empathy by stepping into diverse perspectives and experiences.
-
Strengthen confidence and emotional regulation through rehearsal and critique.
